FW: Won't Get Fooled Again

Below is my reply to Bob Lefsetz's reply regarding his review for Encore of
The Who at The Concert for NY.

I'm leaving this guy alone now.
He seems to be trying, but also seems a bit simple.
Not worth any continuing effort.

Mark, any thoughts (keep it clean)?

>1. I must admit that when I wrote that, I'd spaced on "Quadrophenia".

Yeah you did!!
Thanks for the apology. :-)

>Then again, why did Townshend try to write another rock opera. It didn't
>really work.

Umm, what? Didn't work? You mean many were too impatient or too dumb to
get it.
Man, if ever something worked, it's Quad. Saved my life on more than one
occasion.

>Oh, there are some GREAT tunes.

Now I'm with ya!

>The girl I love, is the perfect dresser
>Wears all the fashions to a t...

"get's it to a t" but you knew that.

>But, I haven't found most Who fans consider it to be their favorite.

Maybe I need to clarify. Most hard-core Who fans consider it to be the best
Who album. If not the best, with out a doubt right behind Who's Next.
Most casual "fans of The Who" will be much more familiar with Who's Next,
due to radio play, and thus will consider that the best Who album.
But Quad is a masterpiece. No question.

>It WAS the source for the best rock movie ever.

I'm with ya Bob, keep it up!

>And, the soundtrack album was better than the original Who album.

Ugggh. Now you've lost me again.

>Entwistle remixed it and the bass is more defined.

That's always a good thing.

> Not sure about the soundtrack CDs,
>got the Quad CD though.
>And, there's been great stuff.
>Like "How Many Friends" on "By Numbers".
>Never mind, "A Little Is Enough" on "Rough Mix".
>But "Who's Next" is the apotheosis.
>Bob

Well, I won't belabor the point.
No more spacing, ok?
