Re: New Orleans Who; What's worth believing in; Touring will make you crazy

Dave:

Well, whenever you're ready...I'm more than ready. Let me be the first to
volunteer.

Tom:

That IS what they're fighting for. To varying degrees, of course. But you
mustn't let the hypocrasy of the GOP color your view of the other guys. You
know, there are some of us who do care whether our kids have a financial and
environmental future, and are not so blindly selfish enough to think only of
how much money they can make. As I asked someone recently, when did a profit
margin become more important than a human being? Or an owl? Yes, Virginia,
there IS a hole in the Ozone layer.
I do believe a running theme in Pete Townshend's music is caring about other
humans, and it escapes me how any Who fan can ever be caught up in the
obvious small-mindedness of conservatism. Any group of people that attempts
to ridicule people for caring about life and the future beyond their own
needs is inherently flawed.

> Democrats never "stole" an election, right?

They may have, but I've seen no evidence of it. Never a presidential
election, and never with such an obvious and blatant disregard for the will
of the people.

> endless reunion tours?? there have only been 5 so far!!!!!!!!!

Scott P:

Five? 1989, `96-97, 2000. That's three. What are you using, Bush math or
something equally invalid?

> Note to self: Use smileys when posting jokes to list.

Note to everyone: I don't use smileys, ever. You'll have to figure it out
for yourself if I'm joking or not. That's half the fun.

Rich:

I Can See For Miles and My Wife aren't on the movie, either. The one on the
album is the BBC version, but I'm assuming the footage would have been the
Smothers Brothers show.
But a "programming note": I had a radio show from Largo Md/Philly 12/73, and
it had this same version of My Wife on it. Anyone know why, or how this
happened?

You make a great argument, and I doubt anyone here would disagree. Now, get
it to Pete and make him believe.

Scott S:

Good one!
