RE: Your worst concert experience

A very handy German word that means the joy you find in other people's bad
luck.

Go ahead! I'll post mine as well that also was a Who concert. In 1980 I and
a friend spent the night and the next day in line at the parking garage next
to The Omni in Atlanta to get Who tickets for us and our friends. Despite
all the effort and getting sunburned in line, we got nosebleed seats.

Now the incredible 1975 Atlanta show was my last experience with The Who so
I wanted to show everybody how wonderful they were. Pete had just hurt his
hand which was in a cast but I doubted he needed it as he obviously was
feeling no pain. I really think at times he went to sleep in the middle of
songs. The rest of The Who played as if constantly wondering how many more
minutes until they could get to the party afterwards. I was so ashamed and
disappointed I went off The Who for almost 8 years.

Oddly enough, that show is now available as a bootleg (of course, I haven't
bought it) and the music guide person in our local entertainment paper said
she wasn't going to see the 1997 Quad show because she'd seen The Who in
Atlanta when they were good in 1980!
