U2 seating

U2 is doing some interesting things with seating and ticketing for their
upcoming tour. Here is one article about the risks of the festival seating
they will use on the floor:

The *really* interesting thing they are doing is a way to give their
hardcore fans first crack at tickets. If you had registered on their web
site prior to the ticket onsale date, you would be given a password that
would allow you to by a pair of the above-mentioned floor seats ($45 face in
Boston) two days before they are released to the general public. When you
pull up the purchase screen on Ticketmaster, you must enter the password
before the system will find tickets.

(I am not hardcore or smart enough to take advantage of this so I can't say
that it is working as promised. Mrs. House is pretty keen on going to a
show.)

Pretty slick! I for one would have loved this kind of thing for last year's
Who tour.
