"Remastered" MY GENERATION Boot Review

Those of you, like me, who can't wait for Shel Talmy to become a nice
person, may want to pick up the "remastered" MY GENERATION CD
boot that's currently "on the market."

I put the word remastered in quotes because, although this boot sounds
great, it's certainly not perfect. For example, there isn't a consistent mix
throughout the *whole* CD. Some songs need the bass boosted up &
others need the treble turned down. But there isn't enough of a variance
to bother someone looking for a clean, decent-sounding version of this
un-rereleased, first WHO album from 1965.

The packaging is *extemely* well done & includes the original liner notes
(or more correcly, back-cover notes) within a 10-page booklet of fairly
rare, 1965-era pictures. The front of this CD uses the Virgin reissue cover,
however, the back of the booklet uses the original 1965 cover.

The back cover of this CD states:

FINALLY! The very first "classic" WHO album (from No-
vember 1965) on CD - remastered & with all available BO-
NUS tracks! The WHO themselves & the producer of this
LP, Shel Talmy, have an ongoing dispute over the rights, so
it's up to us to serve the public. It's a legal matter, Baby!

Lots of bonus tracks, too - period B-sides, rarities & the like. All sound
decent.

So until Mr. Talmy comes to his senses, this boot is highly recommended
to satisfy your early-WHO urges.
