Re: Headline: WHO DON'T EXIST FOR SOME!

Amen to that!

The crowd I hang out with at school all know of the Who but don't really
know their music. They all kept telling me over and over that they were
going to be on the Simpsons and I was like, "Well, YEAH, i fucking knew
about it back in JULY!" Oye. And they call my WHO shirt from the concert
back in August the "Plunger Shirt!" because my friend Kenny orriginally
thought Pete was holding a PLUNGER and not a guitar over his head. Also
musta had something to do with the target... Like I said though, they
all know OF them but they don't KNOW them. I could say, "Yeah my flag
landed on Roger!" and they'd go, "Which one is he?!"

Oh and here's something scary.... when my Grandma called to tell me the
Who were on the Simpsons that night (suprise surprise) she said, "I
didn't know Roger Daltrey was in the Who! I thought he was just an
actor!" and I started rolling around hysterics when my mom told me about
it. Y'know, half crying half laughing...

We must spread the word I guess!

And she's focking stoooopid! ;-)

Same here. Seems majority in The Netherlands haven't ever heard of The Who
(and some vaguely, and most know Roger Daltrey better then The Who).

Who music isn't played in bars, clubs or on the radio. But what *is* nice
is that a lot of (amateur) bands do a lot of WHO stuff... And those bands
consist out of 40-ish guys who probably where fans at the time and know
Tommy by heart.

Still I don't understand... How such a great band doesn't have a real
legacy like the Stones or the Beatles out here... That's a shame... Like
people will remember the Stones 50 years from now, but not The Who... :-(
BUT I FUCKING WILL!!!
