There are a few other subliminal references such as Jimmy's
multiple reflections. When Jimmy is in the back shed, his
face can be seen in four of the scooter's mirrors and another
shot in a lavatory has his image doubled in the surrounding
looking glass.

I agree there should have been more allusions to his
personalities but the film is marvelous as is. (Other
Franc Roddam work people may want to check out are
"The Bride" and "Lords of Discipline").

Nonsense and poppycock.

My previous post was written in haste and it was actually
the X-mas '66 and the *final* RSG! show. Sorry about that,
but you cited "Please Don't Touch" as being something you
would like to see on a live compilation. I simply pointed
out that it was a studio recording so I can't see how I'd
be thinking of another song. The program had returned to
the lip-synch format, so for this last broadcast The Who
wanted to do something special. They went into Ryemuse
Studios and laid down a "new" track. (Before the last minute
change, they were set to record "Rock Around The Clock").
Check your "Concert File" 16th or 17th Dec '66.

However, one could probably argue that a track with no
overdubs is "live" (in the studio).

"Jingle Bells" along the lines of "Hall Of The Mountain King"?
What are you talkin' 'bout? Moon's drumming on "You Rang?" is
fantastic.
