Pete on Storytellers

I saw Pete's Storytellers for the first time the other day. I'd had major problems taping it the other times it came on and even this time did my head in cos the video ran out on the last song! To make matters even worse, there was this competition to meet The Who advertised straight after it, and the question was who replaced Moonie as drummer in The Who, and I'd stopped recording it by this time and I was like, "oh, god, I know this, who was it, oh, who was it? AHHHHH!!" etc. And then I remembered just as the number went off the screen! DAMN YOU, KENNY JONES! So now I shall never meet The Who, and I won't be able to tell Pete how much I love it when he pouts! Nor will I be able to ask John how he does "boris the spider" without wrecking his throat!

ANYWAY...

Wow, it was fantastic! That man has got to be one of the funniest people on earth! I wondered if he was planning on stripping right at the beginning but he wasn't (which to be honest was quite a relief! Had it been 30 years earlier, I would've been highly disappointed, but, er, oh you know what I mean, right?). But I tell you who did my head in, that guy who asked him the question. Was he trying to see how many times he could say the word "wanky" in one sentance? I think he was... but Pete handled it wonderfully ("okay, what's your question?") as I knew he would! And I laughed so hard at the thing about Garth Brooks! Yes, Pete should get himself one of them hats!

I have a new hero. His name is Pete Townshend!

Oh, am I meant to comment on the music? Umm, well, I loved the first one he did. Oh everyone knows it was great, I don't need to mention it!

Peace, love and Pete Townshend
