Alex the ~official~ (said so by Tony Fletcher) Keith Moon freak takes
the stand....

Well, one, Ringo didn't want Zak to play drums at all. He finally gave
in and bought Zak a small trap Ludwig set back in the early 70's. When
Ringo and Maureen split up and Zak was in California during the summers,
Moonie took him under his wing and paid more attention to him than he
ever did Mandy. During this period as well, Moonie taught him to play
some licks, and Zak pretty much just watched and downloaded it on his
hard-drive, explaining the whole puffy cheeks on both ends. When Keith
got back from the Who By Numbers tour of 75 and 76, he gave Zak the set
of drums he had been using on tour and taught him some more with that.
They were really like best buddies who went out and played drums
together more than a student teacher relationship, understandably with
Moon's character. Moon taught Zak (during summers in California when he
wasn't touring, and some when he went back to England and Zak was with
his mum) off and on sporadicly for about 3 years, from '74 or '75, to
'78.
