"UnAmerican Opens For The Who; Most Of Tour Sells Out
It's a bit last minute, but the Who have announced that London-based
alt-country band UnAmerican will be opening for them on their reunion
tour, which kicks off Sunday (June 25) at the World Theater in Chicago.
So far, ticket sales are strong. The first leg of the tour is a near
sell-out, including sold-out shows in Chicago, New York, and Boston.
The band, touring in support of the double live album, The Blues to the
Bush, released in April, includes Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, and
John Entwistle along with Zak Starkey (Ringo Starr's son) on drums and
keyboardist John "Rabbit" Bundrick, both of whom toured with the Who on
its Quadrophenia tour in 1996 (allstar, April 10). UnAmerican's
self-titled Universal Records debut was also released in April.
Check out the live reviews of the Who's Chicago show on Sunday and the
Black Crowes/Jimmy Page (who are touring in tandem with the Who tour)
show in Chicago on Friday (June 23) in allstar on Monday (June 26).
