Heavy Metal was invented by Link Wray (a little long, but who cares)

If you all really want to know where Heavy Metal came from, you need to
listen to "Ace Of Spades" by Link Wray, which was recorded sometime between
1959-1962, not sure, but it is almost IDENTICAL to the OX. Remember, Link
Wray's song "Rumble, was banned from radio because when it was played in
public, fights always broke out...pretty good trick considering that this
song is an instrumental.

I saw Link Wray last year..he's 70 years old and still putting out great
music (new song featured on "Budweiser" radio ad, the first Taco Bell
doggie commercial where the dog is seen nodding in the rearview mirror,
that is Link Wray as well. Link can also be heard in the restaurant scene
in Pulp Fiction.

I bought a live video from 1996, recorded in London, that also has
interview footage, and there is a LOT of Pete Townshend dialog in the
interview. Link tells the story of how when Rolling Stone was doing a
feature on him in 1972?, that Keith Moon ran onto a photo shoot, totally
naked, picked him up, and started yelling "RUMBLE, RUMBLE!!!!". Link also
says that Pete is a genius, and that he took what he himself had done to
another universe.

Without Link, there would be not Pete.

And the best part is that he's from Dunn, North Carolina, just like me.
Entwistle's aunt also lives in Winston-Salem.
