IGTC vs. O&S

To those who have tried both mail lists,

What are the pros & cons of each list.  I tried both for a while, but landed
here because I could not deal with the volume of both and the O&S list was
involved in a heated discussion about the origins of Roger's abdominal scar.
This was information I did not need.

That type of discussion was not out of the ordinary on that list.  Is that
simply because the list is more active?
