Re: How to capture streaming video?

I don't know what software/hardware Pete used for his clips, but I'll tell
you how I encoded "A quick one" from TKAA.

I bought a piece of hardware called Zipshot from Circuit City. It is a
parallel port device used to capture images from an outside source, such as
a video recorder. It has a vhs-c and a video rca jack on it for input
only - no audio input. I ran the video from my vcr to the input jack on the
Zipshot, and the audio input to my soundcard. I also downloaded Real
Producer which is a free download from the Real Player website
(www.real.com). With this software, it allowed me to encode the clip at a
variety of speeds/resolutions depending on the speed of your
connection/computer.

The clip is here - (http://members.tripod.com/~lomara). Click on "A Quick
One" to see the clip.
