Lifehouse Live - Pete's Solo Band or The Who?

Pete Townshend has repeatedly said that he is tired of talking about
Lifehouse, he just wants to play it. Some time next year after The Who
finish their studio sessions,Pete will resume work on his Lifehouse "method"
project. This is the adaptation of Lifehouse into a live performance. The
big question is which band will play Lifehouse -- Pete's solo band or The
Who? Pete said in an interview that he wants Lifehouse to reach the greatest
number of people. Logic dictates that Lifehouse performed by The Who would
have a far greater impact than if performed by Pete's solo band. Yet, there
are other factors that cloud the picture: Ego - Pete may see Lifehouse as
his performance vehicle, one that would give him a chance to do most of the
singing; Money - Will the other players in The Who want to promote Pete's
Lifehouse album and receive no royalties? Baggage - When Pete first started
Lifehouse in the early '70s, it was the band that squashed the project
catapulting Pete into a nervous breakdown. Is Pete willing to overlook this?
New Music - If The Who do indeed produce a new album, how could this new
music be mixed in with a performance of Lifehouse? Two hours plus of
Lifehouse followed by a set of new songs? I don't think so. The bottom
line is that Lifehouse live has the potential to be an awesome multi-media
spectacle complete with video, narration and other high-tech special effects
a la Quad. The full power of Lifehouse can only be attained if played by
The Who. What do you think he will do?
