McCartney said Starr was 1st choice drummer 
(Launch) - On his new album "Run Devil Run," Paul McCartney has raised a few
eyebrows by using Deep Purple's heavy hitting drummer Ian Paice. But he said
that he actually had another first choice for the sessions - his former
Beatles mate, Ringo Starr. "Yeah, it would've been great. He would've been
my first choice," McCartney said. "And then Keith Moon and then John Bonham
- but they're dead, so that would've been more difficult. But (Starr) was
doing something. He was getting his tour together."
