[O'Neal, Kevin W.] First off, let me state that it amazes me how
totally critical people can be. It must be hard for performers to put
themselves on stage for all to judge, and then have to read those
judgements. I would hate to have people analyse my looks now at 34, let
alone at 55. It's this type of talk that keeps our favorite performers
from touring and sharing what they can do (even if it falls a bit short from
the "glory days"). These are not the glory days! This is today. Today can
be it's own glory day, but lets not make our boys have to live up to the LAL
or IOW days. I thought they sounded and looked great from what I could see
off of the PAX show. And who really gives a shit as to how they look??!!
Back in the day, you couldn't see them, only hear them! And that was enough
for hours and hours of listening entertainment. It wasn't until about '82
that MTV changed all that.
I will say that my question about John and Pete's smoking came to
mind because John is looking a bit frail.
However, someone did make an interesting comment that It's none of
our business. It IS none of our business, but as a long time fan, I care
about these guys and just want them to be able to continue to enjoy
themselves......irregardless what they are doing. They deserve that. These
guys have put their thoughts, their feelings, their lives on display for all
of us to relate (or not) to. For me, that deserves my undying gratitude and
respect.

[O'Neal, Kevin W.] Hey if you're looking to go to a show to look at
runway models, GQ I'm sure has a few you could attend. Me, I'd rather stay
and listen to Pete's much improved solo playing. Some of his harmonic chord
solo work and jazz chord progressions blew me away (PAX show)!!!
I think you've missed the whole reason for The who in the first
place. It was to fight these types of judgments. It was to admit that we
have things about ourselves that we don't like, but that it doesn't change
the fact that "I AM ONE"!!!!!!!!
Do us a favor, scan a photo of your self onto the list. I'll find
something to laugh at.
I think most of us realize that these shows came about relatively
quickly, there was little time to really practice. I am very confident that
they will get tighter and tighter the more they play together. The greatest
worry has to be Rogers voice.
I think only Superman can do a whole tour singing the types of style
Roger has, and not have problems with his voice. Jesus, Rogers vocals are
the most difficult in Rock to perform!!!! I thought he sounded great on the
Quad tour, and was still amazed at his volume and range from the PAX show.
Yeah, he cracked a few times. So what.

BTW, your use of the term "retirement band" buggs me. These are
just three guys who have remained active in music, and now and then
re-explore their relationship with each other.

Why is it that everyone else in the world, like you and me, are
allowed to change, but these guys have to remain the same. Unrealistic
expectation if you ask me. I preferr to join them on the road of growth and
change. If you know of a different road, show us the way. Let's keep it
real.

	Stay in Tune,
	Kevin in Vt.
