Early Who/Jazz/Gin

Hi Everyone, Pete and Roger are probably the ones who did play some
form of jazz or dixieland as it was known back then. Surely, an
early emerging Who, TED, before Moon joined, certainly looked up to
their peers of the day such as Acker Bilk, Lonnie Donnegan,Joe
Brown,etc..Those guys were THE hitmakers in those days, just a little
bit before Beatlemania and it can be no surprise to anyone that The
Who or more likely The Detours at the time probably played some
jazz numbers. After all did'nt they actually play at a few weddings
and such.? I remember reading somewhere that Pete thought Lonnie
Donnegan was KING ! Actually, He was very good, I remember seeing
Him On TV. Oh I forgot to mention Kenny Ball and the Jazzmen,
pretty good they were.! All of these acts may have influenced The
Who in those days.
Incidentally, I personally can't stand Gin , I prefer Scotch or
Irish Whiskey.
Regards, Derick
