Re: Mike Myers as Keith Moon? NOT!

I think Mike would do a great job as Moon as long as the story focuses on his talent and troubles and does not concern itself too much with the wild antics of the man. Keith was a sad individual in retrospect. Keith had everything, a beautiful wife and child, he was the best R&R drummer ever, in the best R&R band ever, yet it was not enough for Keith. I would like to see his story concentrate on why nothing was ever enough for him. Just think of how great Keith would have been had he been happy with his life and practiced the drums. I think he could of been alive today and kicking out some great music with or without the Who. R&R drumming has not been the same since his death. I just hope the story does the man justice and not just a comical farce.

While I'm not sold on Mike Myers as Keith, you should at
least know that both his parents were from Liverpool, so
he certainly has the British pedigree. I was watching
part of The Kids Are Alright last night, and Keith's
facial expressions during a lot of the TV appearance
clips are very Mike Myersesque. And given Keith's
activities while living in Hollywood, he cheesed up his
own life quite well, thank you.

BTW, the reason I was checking out The Kids Are Alright
was to show my wife the scene from Won't Get Fooled
Again where Pete slides across the stage in slow motion
while Roger does the scream. I told her that whoever
came up with the Maxima car ad must have seen that.
While having the song chopped up in the ad is
frustrating, I gotta say I love hearing The Who coming
out of my TV set.
