Lord Sutch has screamed his last

Screamin' Lord Sutch was found dead today. apparently a suicide. He was 58.

Sutch had an immense but little-known influence on The Who. After a show of his
group The Savages on June 25, 1962, his drummer was approached by a 15 year old
kid who wanted to pay for drumming lessons. His name was Keith Moon. Years
later, Keith showed him what he'd learned by drumming on Sutch's 1971 album
"Hands Of The Ripper."

Sutch opened for The Who a few times in 1966 and, in addition to his music, was
well known for his political campaigns for the Official Monster Raving Loony
Party. He was a great British eccentric and will be missed by all those who
loved to laugh.
