Re: Instant classic scene?

I haven't read mention of any of the other music on Sam's soundtrack, but
everybody's noticed The Who, for sure. Here's excerpts from another review,
Jack Garner, Gannett:

Suspicious neighbors and jealous lovers shout at each other. Tempers boil
over, threats are made and fingers pointed. Sex is frequent, but sweaty and
often guilt-ridden. Swirling cameras generate grainy, unsettling images
while The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" pounds on the soundtrack...

...Never boring on the screen, the film continues to pop frequently in and
out of my head in the days since. (That alone is remarkable in this age of
quickly forgettable entertainemnt.) "Summer of Sam" is a potent portrait of
community hysteria, an urban nightmare that trips along the irrational
fringes of fear. Berkowitz took his orders from a dog, but this film
suggests we all have to deal with voices that come from the dark corners
within us.
