Re: Pink Floyd concept albums (non-Who)

Carl RE:

<< He (Syd Barrett) can be even heard on a track in Dark
Side, mumbling about something (I'm not sure which one it is, maybe
"Breathe"). He wandered in during the taping of it, said something about
getting together again, and then wandered off, never to be seen again by
 Floyd (that's what I've been told.) >>

Actually, Syd walked in on the Wish You Were Here sessions.

The following is from Andy Mabbett's "Guide To The Music Of Pink Floyd"
book...
SPEAK TO ME (Dark Side of the Moon)
Opening with a reassuring heartbeat, this introductory song collage forms an
overture to the rest of the suite, including sounds from the rest of the
album, plus the manic laughter and verbal interjections of a road manager (not
Pink Floyd's) nicknamed Roger The Hat. His contribution includes the famous
"I've been mad for fucking years", which was much more prominent in live
performances.
(snip)
"The Hat" ' s contribution, like others heard throughout the album, is
from a session where Waters held up cards with questions such as "when did you
last thump somebody" or "what do you think of death" on them, recording their
responses. One of the participants was Paul McCartney, although his
contribution was considered too cautious to be used.

That should clear up any confusion,
