Moon is God - Reply

This is for the 18 yr old guy in Chicago...

You're absolutely right about the lack of respect our boys from
Shephard's Bush have received. They are/were/will be the underdogs of
the rock world. But that's a good thing, I think. Your buddies who
haven't been converted should be your focus. Spread the Word my
brother.

Beatles, Stones, Zep, Floyd always have gotten the recognition by media
and critics. Ever hear of anyone in the Who getting a Grammy? Ha!
Never happen. But that's good, because let's face it, bands and acts
that receive all of those accolades in most cases, stink. I'm a big fan
of the aforementioned bands, but none compare to the Who as far as
energy, emotion, impact, presentation, grandeur (sp? - oops..) etc... is
concerned. The Who is the greatest because they are the closest band to
us in every way. Besides, I still get a chill when I see a picture of
an airborn Pete or a gnarling Moon.

As far as the boys coming to Chicago (I live here too), I haven't heard
a thing. The last "Who" shows were the phenomenal Quad shows that came
through here a couple of years ago. I won't even bother saying how
great they were. We all know anyway. Pete did a solo acoustic show
here and Eddie Vedder joined him for a rendition of Magic Bus last year,
but... uh,... I missed it. Biggest disappointment for me in the last
several years. I don't even like Pearl Jam. Oh well.

Keep enjoying the Who my friend, the bond will only become stronger as
you get older. I've been a hardcore fan for 20 years and I still find
magic in the music; things I never heard before in their music still
pops up and suprises me. Enjoy and spread the word.

other and we don't know what to do." P.T.
