Re: PT's Writing

Laurie:

I still think it could have been intentional. If he recieved any formal
writing education, it would be. And he DID go to Art School...

I'd be the last person to say he's not indecisive.

He writes about the use of this line somewhere...in an interview,
perhaps Rolling Stone. You might want to look for it.

We have to or we'll get the s**t beaten out of us.
No, seriously...the `70's changed that for most, and Pete didn't really
come out with it openly until then either. Just a few clues in songs
which were never circulated, like Things Have Changed (one of my
favorites). Then again, listening to early British Rock songs (by other
than the majors) is a study in male weakness.
A great example of his admitting weakness is on another of my favorites,
Never Ask Me.

Power is definitely an element we (Who fans) desire, since it's the
softer stuff most of us don't like (FACE DANCES, for instance).

Hey, ANYONE can be influential these days! All they need is a public
forum, and someone will make a Web page about them.

> I was only ten... didnt have much teen-aged angst then :)

You were right on the edge of it, though. I wasn't THAT much older...17,
actually. Past my adolescent tramas, but they were still clear in my
mind. Clear enough to relate.

> must correct :).... "It's clear to all my friends that I habitually lie."

Right, thanks...I always forget that. Funny how these things get stuck
in your mind...that's the way I heard it pre-remix. And now, "Scuse me
while I kiss this guy."

Another fine example of Pete "coming clean."

Yeah, but "Come on all of you big boys, come on all of you ELVES?"
"ELVES?"

Joseph:

I haven't seen the special but have seen the interview, and Hartman is
truly clueless...what a terrible choice! Moon is completely vulnerable.
I can't think of another interview with people appearing more out of
place than Pete and Keith do here. And where's the usual Townshend in
command of the interview?
