The Who never did make it onto the Ed Sullivan show although they were
scheduled to appear several times.  They were supposed to perform there first
in late 1966/early 1967 but refused to cross a picket line.  They were
also supposed to perform "Pinball Wizard" on Ed's show, but that got
cancelled as well.
