Chicago Show

I posted this the other night, but with the wrong address. (Oh, and I
received a bland digest #169 last night too, somebody please send it to me.
 Thanks.)

BRS in Chicago was great! It wasn't a Who show, but I would recommend it.
I knew Roger wouldn't be on stage the whole time, so I just went into it
looking forward to a unique show. I really enjoyed all of it. Roger's
performances were definitely the most impressive but I liked the other
singers too - they had a lot of energy and were enjoying themselves. I
liked the way they blended from a Beatles song to a Zep song to a Stones
song. It was a nice mix of favorites. Roger was very unhappy with not
being able to hear the guitar through the monitors. He was cussing up a
storm at one point and yelling at the sound guys. From where I was sitting
(4th row center - thanks Kathy!) I could hear him grumbling about the mix.
Between songs he told the audience that performing with so many instruments
and voices was very difficult and said something like "we've done our best
at fucking it up tonight!" It really didn't sound that bad to me, except
that I couldn't hear the symphony instruments very well. Rog looked and
sang great. His voice was in wonderful shape. Whiter Shade of Pale was my
favorite because it really showed how great his voice still is, although
the Who songs were great to hear of course. I just wish the audience had
been a little rowdier - they were pretty darn subdued!
