Why The Who?/ Girl thoughts

Although I have never been so lucky as to find another female Who fan,
other then on this list, I have made some observations. There are two
groups of female Who fans, those that gave them another listen because of
physical attraction, and those that gave them another listen because the
music moved them.

I agree, the American culture considered them a homely bunch of geezers,
when they first hit the US scene. I know of females who wouldn't even give
them a second listen to because of their look. I believe the reasons are
rooted in a culture that reinforced attributes in women that included,
conformance with a society norm established by their mothers, where womens
opnions were not as valuable as mens, and an emephisis on physical
attractiveness. (American females can be an interesting lot)

I believe, physical attraction to a band is fleeting, it is the music, the
preformance, that keeps the fans.

You also must remember 30 years ago you may not "see" what a bands looks
like preforming for quite some time, just some album cover photos or
publicity stills, no clue as to the energy in their preformance, no MTV
etc...

What about the guys, why did you start listening to The Who?
