Yes, this reminds me of a magazine called Viz, which is a spoof comic 
for adults.  They did a series of features called "Celebrity C**t", 
whereby readers wrote in about their encounters with famous people 
and the reactions (i.e. acting like c**ts).  One bloke wrote in:
"I was walking down Oxford Street in London one day, when who should 
I see striding towards me but my life time hero, Pete Townshend out 
of the Who.  I plucked all my courage and walked towards him to say 
something to him.  When I got close to him however, all he could say 
was "Get out of my fucking way""

I think this story corroborates the above feelings.  It doesn't stop 
me wishing that I could meet him though,,,,,,,,,,
