Re: David jones/Bowie

I.S.

I seem to have inadvertantly and prematurely dispatched this, and two other
notes, a fact supported by the fact that AOL just sent them back to me. So,
please excuse my ineptness if this should be redundant..My most humble
apologies should that be the case~!

I.S.
As Dana Carvey might say while imitating Ed McManon....

 "YOU ARE CORRECT, SIR!"

 However...

 << Re:
  >>the artistic thief David Jones decided

 even
  >>a modicum of fame, from "David Jones" to "DAVID BOWIE".

  >Actually, I've seen it reported in several sources the reason Davy Jones
  >changed his stage name to David Bowie was so that he wouldn't be confused
  >with the Monkee of the same name.

And I have read that too,in more than one book on Bowie's career.

                        Long Live Rock,

BEER...It's not just for breakfast anymore!

I must have really gotten sloppy in my writing, because I never meant to
suggest that BOWIE's name change had anything at all to do with my little
tale of his having been nabbed, red-handed ripping off Pete TOWNSHEND by the
master, himself, that was just a funny bit but unrelated for the reasons
that you ccurately described above!

BTW, did you know how he came up with the name "Bowie"....??? It was a
anagram of names of ledgendary "Rock Stars", in particular Mick
Jagger..Interestingly, the one guy he took seriously enough to copy, PETE,
was not part of the anagram that made up the name "BOWIE"...

Finally, I must pause to salute your excellent closing "slogan". It is
doubtlessly one which PETE himself would agree! I would only suggest the
following addition...

"BEER..it's not just for breakfast anymore" (Your original text)

(Suggested addition): "It's good for whatever ALEs you!"
