Re: The Who Mailing List Digest V4 #176

Zach, I think this version is from "The Secret Policeman's Ball" or "The
Secret Policeman's Other Ball." (I'm at work and can't verify right now,
there were two Policeman Ball records,). His name is John Williams but I
don't think it's the conductor guy. I have the version on vinyl but not on
CD. You right, it's a fantastic version!! I believe "Drowned" is also on
the record. Maybe someone knows if a CD was ever made.

I also have a question about a CD. I used to have a record titled "Rock for
Kampuchea" in which the Who play a fantastic version of "Sister Disco".
Believe or not, I used to see the concert footage of this song on MTV.
(early 80's) If anyone ever wanted to see an example of a "cool" rock band,
they should check out that footage. Pete had a scrappy beard, a bandana
around his neck. Roger looked invincible, super hero like, and John was
his usually stoic self. KJ was on drums almost following Pete's eyes
waiting to crash a cymbal at the next windmill. Has anyone ever seen that
CD?
