Hi folks!
Greetings from Merry Ole England.  Well we just got home from a party. Not
just any party. The invite reads as follows "Pete Townshend invites you to
celebrate 8 Olivier Award Nominations for Tommy on Sunday 2nd February 1997
at LA2 157 Charing Cross Rd, London WC2 doors oooopen 7.30pm Food 8-10 and
Live Music 10-Midnight Admission Strictly by Invitation Only"

Well, guess what- the live music was Pete and the who back up band - Jodi,
Billie, Rabbit, John Carron, Zak, plus 2 female backup singers and Pino
Palladino on bass.  Pete played for 75 minutes and was awsome! He was in fine
shape and sounded even better. 

The songs he played: Pinball Wizard, WGFA, A Friend is a Friend, I Am An
Animal ( he had to start this one twice as he started in the wrong key the
1st time) After The Fire,  Behind Blue Eyes, Acid Queen, Were Not Gonna Take
It, Face The Face, Rough Boys, The Hawker (Eyesight To the Blind) A real
blusey one at that! and I'm one.

Weel, all the usual people and hanger oners where their.  John, Lisa and
Queenie  where also there. By the way John wasn't asked to play or the money
wasn't right, that what he said!  Roger's family was there, but Roger was
still in L.A. filming his new sitcom.
