It was played as it sounds on the new release.  I put the original CD 
release into the CD-ROM on my workstation, recorded that segment, and 
used the "reverse" option to confirm that it's just that flamenco-style 
segment backwards.

Perhaps just to see how many people would try to achieve that sound by 
playing normally.
