Re: Last Two Albums

Sure. Rehabilitate here means to transform current public opinion on FD from
one that says "the album sucks" to new awareness that the album is "actually
pretty good". That can be done, at least in part, by featuring songs from FD
where you'd normally expect hear others. Rehabilitation.

Yes. I do agree "Daily Records" is not bad. "Don't Let Go The Coat"
certainly has a hook but it just doesn't SOUND like a Who song should. Maybe
it's the tempo and Daltrey's vocals; a difficault song for him to sing.

The drums are definitely "muffeled" or "dampened." The media or sound system
you are using doesn't matter. A natural or "undampened" drum sound is full
of tonality; tom-toms have even certain "ring" to them (listen to Moon's
fills on "Shakin..." on LAL) and snares should have a "crack" ("I Can See For
Miles" on "...Sell Out").
On FD, hard to blame the producer and K. Jones TOO much though as this was
the
sound in the late "70's early "80's in drumming. REMO brand muffles sold
big!
I'm a drummer - pretty sensitive to this stuff.
