I'm not gay, either. I don't think that's important.
Most of us Who'sterbators were likely disappointed by "Iron Man." (I
bugged the hell out of the record store mgr in the little town I lived in at
the time...he ordered cassetes and not the CD, and I refused to buy the tape,
holding out for the disc.) I understood the piece almost immediately on
listening to it, having read the children's story around 1970. (I was a child
at the time...) For the casual listener, Iron Man"is a difficult piece to
grasp...it is intricate, it doesn't scream (much), it wasn't terribly
radio-friendly at the time. (This hasn't changed with age.) It's a very good
musical. It isn't a great piece of rock. I accept it as such. Rock and Roll
helps keep me sane, but it isn't all I depend on for my sanity...
