Re: My Generation/Who vs Zep/Pagey/Brainwashed

Personally, I have my jazz collection in 2 sections - pre & post-Bird

BTW, re: discussion of Marsh et al,
It seems that most rockers get their info from rock writers writing
outside their medium (i.e.blues & jazz). instead you should be reading
Robert Palmer, Pete Grendysa, Paul Oliver, etc. Getting your blues info
from rockers is why only the same names in Blues seem to come up (Muddy,
Robt J, Sonny Boy & the rest of the Chess folk, Albert, BB & Freddie King
(the latter 2 much more influential than given credit for), when there's
such greatness waiting for you to discover like Blind Willie McTell, Buddy
Moss, Lowell Fulsom, Blind Willie Johnson, Rev. Gary Davis, Professor
Longhair, Ma Yancey, Cow Cow Davenport, T-Bone Walker, Mississippi Fred
McDowell, RL Burnside, god, i could go on about fantastic bluesmen that
noone's heard of because rockers haven't covered them causing rock writers
to discover them (am willing to trade tapes in exchange for boot tapes)
best, GaryM
