Somebody Saved Me/Not Kit

Initially, I always thought the "Soul" in whom Townshend could depend was
Kit--It's clear from recent discussion that I wasn't alone in this theory.
But recently I have changed my mind, so I'm glad this topic came up. I don't
know the name of the woman who Pete was living with during his seperation
from his wife, but I do know that he lived with her during this time period
(early '80's). I tend to think that the "Soul" is her. I thought of this
while at the Supper Club show (Friday) when Pete began to talk about "The
Shout". He spoke of the woman as someone who he depended on greatly. Then
when he actually sang the song he added a new verse to the end that had to do
with the woman (I assume) overdosing on speedballs (Not sure of the specific
drug here but I thought that's what he said). I immediately thought of
"Somebody Saved Me" and it just seemed to fit so much better than Kit would.
I was wondering if this makes sence to anybody but me?
