The power of the Who

So there I am last night at a bar grand opening. (For Boston
residents, the new downstairs to Jillian's.) As it is a grand
opening, there are more waitresses than are easily numbered, all of
whom seem determined to be my friend. Not a bad thing since they are
pleasing to the eye. I am wearing my Quadrophenia shirt (with the
too-much discussed radioactive logo on back). On comes another
waitress, who proceeds to engage me in a real discussion, as she has
just gotten back from New York, where she was at the Thurs and Sunday
shows. We (naturally) agreed that Pete Townshend was pretty much the
messiah, and the next thing I knew, I had a free drink in my hand.

Here's to you Pete!

Why aren't other bars this enlightened?
The way the world should work.
"How much is a black and tan?"
"$4 for pagans, $0.25 for Who fans."
"Hm. Here's my ticket stub from the show."
"And here's your drink."
