I assume that MCA & Polydor currently consider an expanded Odds & Sods to
be the final word on rare/unreleased studio material, so anything they
can't cram into a one or two disc set just ain't gonna get out. I was just
trying to point out that it doesn't have to be the case, that a multi-part
CD single release would be a relatively inexpensive way of accomodating
those fans who want even more unreleased material.

There's probably enough rare/unreleased Who material for an Odds and Sods
box set, and in an ideal world Polydor and MCA would release a truly
comprehensive collection (like you, that's certainly my preference). But
it's a fairly safe assumption that at least one of these record companies
would be adamantly opposed to anything larger than a two disc O&S release
(and we may not even be that lucky). That being the case, it would still
be possible to accomodate the die hard fans to some degree by including
additional unreleased material on a CD single release (as was done with the
singles accompanying the release of both Beatles Anthology volumes to
date). Granted, Polydor and MCA haven't demonstrated a great deal of
interest in accomodating the wishes of die hard fans (e.g., the single disc
Live at Leeds), but one can always hope.

bonus tracks off the Quad reissue)
