Sometimes, broadcast mixed are intentionally screwed up. This way, the artist
then has an option of releasing the thing themselves with professional sound
quality...

In '89, the Who did 2 WW1 broadcasts, 1) the Radio City one, which sounded
excellent. 2) the Dallas Texas show. In my local area, it was carried on
THREE stations. However, the mix was intentially made "cloudy" to discourage
booting. I thought it was horrible enough never to listen to it again. I
point out the 3 stations since they all had the same bad sound. Meanwhile,
WW1, pressed the highlights onto a promo CD and the mix and sound quality are
excellent. Wasn't the concert, just WW1...

This has been a practice for years... Go listen to "Tales From The Who"--an
original '73 King Biscuit show...
