(Black Eye) Can See For Miles

In the latest installment of the saga involving THE WHO frontman ROGER
DALTREY getting hit in the face by GARY GLITTER's microphone stand during a
rehearsal - it turns out that the errant mic stand actually fractured the
singer's eye socket and he might need surgery. Apparently, Daltrey is still
in intense pain and the organizers of THE WHO's current tour, the MASTERCARD
MASTERS OF MUSIC CONCERT, issued a statement earlier this week saying, ,
"The injury is extremely painful and it was only after a lengthy medical
examination on Friday night that doctors cleared him to perform at Hyde Park
last Saturday. He has, in fact, fractured his eye socket and will have to
have a further medical examination before he knows whether he will require
corrective surgery. Roger would like it to be known that the accident was
totally his fault, and that he does not blame Gary Glitter in any way."
We're betting that Glitter is feeling like a big moron right about now, however.
