Shakin' All Over - stage comments

This may fall in the category of duh...

I was listening to the Shakin All Over boot last night, and at the end of
AQOWHA, Pete says something to the effect of "That certain person that shot
that certain person is forgiven."  The date of the show, 4/5/68, is one day
after the Martin Luther King murder.  Does anyone know if there is supposed
to be a correlation?
