   Not to beat this subject too much to death, but I seem to recall Pete saying
(on David Letterman?) that the guitar was a Strat given to him by Eric Clapton.
Just a little more trivia.
   I looked at the little side-bar of pictures in the booklet for the 30 yrs box
set of Pete windmilling violently with a tremolo-equipped Strat (must've been
before the accident, or else Pete's a slow learner...), and it appears that the
bar does not have the usual Fender plastic tip on it- this explains a lot.
