The tacked-on B&W is what makes the BMG release a "special edition".  But
the earlier release without the TKAA add-on also lacked the opening 2
minutes or so of AQO.  I am still without an explanation for why they did
this.  And I'd find it even harder to imagine hearing an explanation I'd
agree with.
