The REAL story of Quadrophenia.

I was talking to Pete's 3rd cousin, Alvin and he told me the shocking
truth of what Quadrophenia was really supposed to be about.

It seems that Pete had a real obsession with the Three Stooges, but
had a hard time dealing with the fact that they were not the FOUR
Stooges. You see, he thought the perfect comedy team would be Moe,
Larry, Curly, AND Shemp. Alvin said that in many private moments Pete
would rant about Shemp being the most underrated Stooge.

So Pete wanted to do a story about a character with all the
personalities of the Stooges he loved so much. The main character was
still to be Jimmy, but he would always be walking around with Four
Stooges behind him acting like idiots. Nobody saw the Stooges but
Jimmy. this was Pete's way of showing how the world would react to
four Stooges instead of three.

Jimmy was to be in a gang like the Mods called the Stooges Lovers. The
Rockers were actually the Abbott and Costello lovers. There were to bo
no fights between the two groups. Just coffee shop conversation like:
"So the guy with no hair is called Curly, that's reall smart!" and "
What's with the Who's on first thing? I find that ridiculous.". The
only real violence was between the Stooges themselves. Jimmy ran into
problems at home also, because his parents were Fibber Mcgee and Molly
fan's. They would not let any Stooge paraphanelia in the house.

The songs and main idea were close to the Quad that we all know, with
a few differences:

Moe was the tough guy, a helpless head slapper.

Larry was the romantic, did you have to hit me for a moment?

Curly was the bloody lunatic, I'll even carry your bags nyuck, nyuck!

Shemp was the beggar, A hypocrite, love reign over all you guys, I was
always the best Stooge!

They even filmed part of Quad with the Stooges but leagal problems
came up when Shemp's agent wanted him to be the head Stooge in the
film. There was also an accident when Moe was delivering a
particularly hard beating to Curly and Curly ruptured his spleen. Pete
had to scrap the whole thing and what he was left with is the Quad we
all know and love.

Gives you a new appreciation for the Stooges doesn't it?
