John Cusack would be good but there is a British actor named Paul McGann
(Whitenail and I, Paper
Mask) who bears a resemblance to Townshend and is a very good actor also.
I love the idea of Gary Oldman as Kit Lambert.

Anyone have suggestions for who would play John?
