Actually, there are several stereo versions. The (short) stereo version
(Townshend opening lead vocals)  appears with the best sound on the Japanese
"Direct Hits" album and the (long) stereo version (Daltrey opening lead
vocals) appears on "Meaty Beaty..." The short mono version is the more
common. Then of course, we have the "remixed" (short) stereo version on the
box set, which isn't quite as good as the version from the Japanese album...
