My promo copy was like this also - it wouldn't go past 3:35 on my CD player.   
It                                                                             
would play on the laserdisc player, but you could hear the spot where the skip 
was.                                                                           
I picked up a copy in a local CD shop that was fine tho. There *are* some good 
copies
