I have Who bootlegs that run both fast and slow. However, I did read once
that the group played slightly higher than concert pitch because they liked
the way it sounded. I think doing so lends itself to the Who's music,
making the chords "brighter." I don't do it because I don't like replacing
strings!
By the way, I have Hendrix's Woodstock set on a bootleg, which sounds great
but is also said to be recorded fast. There's nothing worse than getting a
bootleg recorded at the wrong speed (well, almost nothing worse).
