Shel Talmy (fwd)

Shel Talmy produced all of The Who's recorded output from "I Can't
Explain" up to but not including "Substitute" (produced by PT).
This, of course, includes the _My Generation_ LP. Talmy's contract
with the band was ridiculously lopsided in his favor, which is largely
why the band chose to sever their contract with him in 1966. However,
the terms of his settlement with the band entitled him to a percentage
of their sales for *all* Who records for five years; thus, _Tommy_
made Talmy a comfortably wealthy man, though he had nothing to do
with it.

It was in celebration of the expiration of those five years that the
band released _Meaty Beaty Big & Bouncy_ in 1972.
