Billups

I found this onhoops.com. Love to hear your opinion

The Celtics MVP?

By way of a Chauncey Billups Update, we've done a little bit of number
crunching surrounding the
Celts rookie point guard. It was interesting to hear all the Billups trade
rumors dissipate once
Boston started playing some bad teams and actually won some games. This got
 us thinking. Our
hypothesis was; When Billups plays well, Boston win, and when he doesn't,
Boston lose. Let's
look at the numbers.

The Celts are currently 7-7. Over the 7 wins, Billups is averaging just
under 12 points and 6 assists
a game, and is shooting 39% from the floor. Over the 7 losses, though, he's
 averaging 6 points, less
than 3 assists, and his shooting percentage drops to .341. In the 6 games
where he's scored 12 or
more points, the Celtics are 5-1, and in the 6 games where he's scored 6 or
 less points, the Celtics
are 1-5. In the 1 game he's scored over 20 points, they're 1-0, and in the
1 game where he scored
0 points, they're 0-1.

This dramatically shows the affect Billups' play has on the rest of the
team and the success of the
franchise. QED. These numbers also indicate inconsistency, but it's
important to remember
Chauncey is a rookie, and a point guard whatsmore. Generally regarded as
the hardest position to
come in and learn direct from college, Pitino is taking some of the
playmaking pressure off of Billups
by having multiple players push the ball up the court in Boston's offensive
 schemes. When you've
got Dee Brown, Dana Barros and Tyus Edney on your roster, you're not going
to play all you
minutes at the point, and having one of the little guys on the court also
allows Billups to play off the
ball. He's young, he's improving, he's got real offensive skills, and his
play is integral to Boston's
W/L record Let's also hope those rumors are gone and he's safe and secure
in Beantown.

I think what is said here, seems correct. We need him and the stats show
this. I hope that Pitino can see this
also.
