Well, he's soloed fairly well since then ("My Generation," Cleveland 2000). 

Seems Pete needs to be warmed up and into the show (I mean, temporally into it) for his solos to begin to click. At only 12 minutes, noodling is probably the best he could come up with.

asn't he stated that this new style of playing emanated from
he fact that he had that bad bike accident in the early '90s
hich really f-ed up his wrist?
